Even the very well-known National Flag Memorial has its own well-kept secrets.
These are two and they are not longer than a block (about 70 meters long). They go under the stairways and they connect Belgrano’s Crypt, at the base of the tower, with the Flags Gallery, which is at the end of the Memorial. These are two dark and narrow tunnels. One runs parallel to Córdoba Street, and the other to Santa Fe Street. They are dark and dizzying because of their narrowness and slight inclination. However, they are not meant to be gloomy or spooky at all. In fact, they give access to the tank that provides water to the fountains on the prow of the enormous ship-shaped monument.
