Catalina's house

Catalina Echevarría de Vidal 's house was located in this area where it is presumed that Manuel Belgrano stayed during his visit in 1812.

Catalina was Vicente Anastasio Echevarría’s sister, a great friend of Belgrano' s and president of the Superior Court of Justice of the Patriotic Government.

Oral testimonies state that Catalina was personally involved in the manufacturing of our national white and light blue flag. Not only represented the cause of Independence, but also had a practical purpose: identifying the Argentine army in battles to come. Some days before, following the Colonel's request, the rosette had been officially adopted.

Address: Córdoba & Juan Manuel de Rosas, S2000 Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina
