Rodolfo "Fito" Páez, son of Margarita Zulema and Rodolfo, was born on March 13th, 1963, a date recorded in the locals' memory due to one of his most important albums: "del 63" ("Born in '63).
He lived in his family home with his father, his grandmother Belia, and his great aunt Pepa, who raised and pampered him until his departure to Buenos Aires in the early 80s. The attic of the house located at 681 Balcarce St. was his shelter and rehearsal space where he started trying and learning the first musical chords. Margarita, his mother, who died when he was a baby, was a great classical concert pianist. In that multicolored house there was always the August Forster piano to listen to intimate concerts of those women who had fun playing it. The radio was also the faithful companion of little Fito's father. On weekends, they shared their favorite tunes, listening to Sinatra, Mercedes Sosa, Jobim, and Piazzolla, among many others.
As regards his first games, the place chosen was San Martin square, which was near his house. A setting full of stairs to go up and down, play hide-and-seek and football among statues with his friends.
