Central Córdoba Club

Few are aware that Messi once wore the blue and red shirt of the so-called “Charrúa” club.

Few are aware that, in December of 1995, Messi wore the blue and red shirt of the so-called “Charrúa”, the well-known club from La Tablada neighborhood. After being persuaded by a friend, Leo participated in a youth soccer summer tournament, where his team won the final against Social Lux club. Audiovisual records show him as a key player to win the game.

The club, with a long history in Argentina’s soccer leagues, participated in premier division and was even the first team from outside the capital to win a national tournament.  Among its most well-known stars are “Trinche” Carlovich and Gabino Sosa.
