The Capuchin Tertiary Sisters began their work in 1892, dedicating themselves to the care of the sick in the Hospital Italiano and conducting apostolic tasks in the Alberdi area. Over the years, they needed a permanent residence that would provide them with greater stability for their mission.
In 1896, the Sisters rented a premise on the corner of Rondeau Blvd. and Herrera St., where they started providing free primary education. In 1903, the institution was officially recognized by the Provincial Government who authorized its operation, in addition to donating land to the Capuchins for the construction of the school, which continues to operate in the same place to this day. The large-scale building, with vertical openings and little decoration, reflects both the pedagogical concept of the time, and hygienic and functional considerations.
