Rosario Central Station was the first train station in the city.
. It belonged to the Ferrocarril Central Argentino railway company, and its main building was completed in 1870. Some of the facilities can still be identified: the station and its pedestrian bridge, the loading docks, the warehouses for parking locomotives, and a goods depot.
Currently, some of these buildings have been reutilized. Such is the case of “La isla de los inventos” (Invention Island), a special venue for children, and the Antonio Berni Downtown Municipal District Center, inaugurated in 1995 as part of the decentralization of municipal administration.
