The statue pays tribute to the well-known cartoonist and writer from Rosario, Roberto Fontanarrosa.
It is located a few steps away from the entrance to the cultural center named after him. He’s sitting at a bar table, surrounded by two of his main characters, Inodoro Pereyra and Boogie, the bully. A short biography can be read there. On the opposite side of the table, there’s an empty chair to sit and take a photograph with Fontanarrosa.
The statue was created by Carmita Batlle on July 19th, 2017. It was unveiled on the 10th anniversary of the writer’s death.
