La Favorita

The iconic department store became one of the most emblematic institutions of the city, as a great urban symbol.

Architects Presas and Arman conceived the original project, and the construction began in 1927 under the direction of the Candia y Cia company.
The complex is distinct in its surroundings due to its type of windows and the hierarchy of the corner. An imposing glazed canopy stands out, housing an allegorical figure of femininity within an arch of the facade. This canopy ends in a dome with a drum and lantern, where the name La Favorita is inscribed in colored majolica tiles.
