The first Methodist Church in Rosario was opened in 1865 thanks to the efforts of the English missioner Thomas Carter, who was a key figure in the religious history of the city.
This Protestant Chapel was located on the corner of Salta St. and Progreso St. (currently Mitre St.), and in 1891 it moved to its permanent current location.
It is an austere, small-sized building of neo-gothic style. Its construction was driven by many members of the Anglo-Saxon community, such as William Wheelwright, a renowned American railway businessperson and active contributor to the development of the project.
Nowadays, the building still functions as a worship and communitarian center, upholding an essential part of the spiritual and historical heritage of the city.
