The little Lake

The little lake was built in 1902.

The little lake (el Laguito) was built in 1902 and it was the place, par excellence, for the distraction of strollers. Surrounded by Humboldt’s willows, it recreated a natural, romantic and peaceful environment. 

A mound or little hill was formed with the earth extracted from the excavation of the construction of the lake, and it became Rosario’s highest place: the Little Hill (or La montañita). It was built by local prisoners under the supervision of the park’s engineers and a pergola with a confectionery was raised at the top, to crown the hill.

Nowadays, there are boat rides and a beautiful show of multi-colored illuminated dancing waters in the middle of the lake.
