Mr. Cabanellas hired Arch. Francisco Roca i Simó, an exponent of Catalan Modernism, to build a rental building with basement, commercial premises on the ground floor and five floors for apartments.
Both facades, on Sarmiento and San Luis Streets, keep pace with a cushion-like wall and individual balconies. On the last level, the facade recedes and conceals the fifth floor. The top is defined by an undulating wall along the entire perimeter, reinforcing the shapes of the style.
It stands out for its treatment of the volume, finishes and joints of wrought iron and copper that decorate and crown its dome, covered with small pieces of colored glass and tiles.
