Spanish Park

It was inaugurated in 1992 and was one of the main projects carried out by Spain in South America.

The Complejo Cultural Parque de España (Spanish Park Cultural Center) represents the first step in a series of value-enhancement actions on the Parana shore. Built in 1992, it was one of the main projects carried out by Spain to commemorate their 500 years of presence in America.

The high stairs integrate with a complex holding five rail tunnels refurbished as exhibition galleries, an auditorium, a school, a video library, an amphitheater, and a theater.

Close to it, visitors can find “La Mision de los Marineros” old chapel, an old rail tunnel open to traffic in 1980 and, as part of a project to turn the coast into public spaces, a concrete yard to skate and ride bikes and skateboards. This large 17,200 sq. ft. area contains a work titled "Light and Pattern, Geometry of Our Flag."
