A Scottish and an English began a long story of coincidences and rivalries.
Both Central and Newell Football clubs were founded within a few years apart by these two men who arrived to this land, coming from the same island in the European continent. Mr. Colin Calder founded Rosario Central Athletic Club, while Mr. Isaac Newell founded Newell’s Old Boys Athletic Club.
Despite the football rivalry between them, both “canallas” (Central’s supporters) and “leprosos” (Newell’s supporters) are drawn to the same site. The reason behind is that both club founders rest —ironically— a few meters apart in Cementerio de Disidentes.
