At the end of the 19th century, the Spaniards Angel and Ramon Garcia began their commercial activity with a small lace trimming shop on the corner of Cordoba and Sarmiento Streets.
The growth of the business led to the construction of their iconic shopping center. It was designed by the architects Presas and Arman and built in 1929 in the Art Nouveau style.
It is structured by a diagonal axis and topped by a large baroque staircase. The triple-height central hall is covered by a large stained-glass skylight with floral motifs.
On the chamfer, there is a glazed marquee. Under the dome and inside the arch of the facade, there is a sculptural ensemble that alludes to female beauty.
