This magical space dates back to 1899 and it is the city’s oldest arcade.
Those who frequent and come by the designer stores, luthier shops, and offices found along the passage claim they can hear footsteps and whispers…
One of the last owners, Andrés Pan, from Spain, who died single and heirless, spent his last years in the passage’s highest floors. In his old age, he handed over the property to the London and River Plate Bank in exchange for a life annuity. His sudden death, only a few months after signing the agreement, casted strong suspicions. Some believe the man, whose last name literally translates into “Bread”, did not die of natural causes and his spirit still wanders around the arcade.
