House of Tango Cultural Center

The tango scene in Rosario is on the rise and the House of Tango is proof of it. Its stage performances reflect the music heritage of a city that was home to artists of the stature of Antonio Agri, Néstor Marconi, Osvaldo Montes, Rodolfo “Cholo” Montironi and Raúl Lavié.

The House of Tango is a Cultural Center for the sole purpose of feeling the two-by-four beat of tango music. The place has the additional charm of being situated in an old railway building, which has been fully restored in its original style.
This Center preserves the rich, local and national tradition of tango, encouraging new interpretations of the genre through its revitalization and promotion. Accordingly, it offers a wealth of artistic activities centered on tango, the urban music that was once typical of the working-class, brothel-filled port areas of Argentina, but which, from the 1930s onwards, took the most distinguished European ball rooms by storm. The activities include performances, concerts, exhibitions, shows, rehearsals by the local Teaching Orchestra and the “Noneto” School of the House of Tango, lessons and seminars.
