Hometown of great, talented, sportsmen and sportswomen, Rosario pays tribute to 167 local athletes on the Olympic Athletes Walk that covers 8 blocks on both sides of Pellegrini Ave. from Moreno St. to Sarmiento St.
Different plaques pay tribute to such athletes as Luis Brunetto (first Silver Medal in Latin America Athletics, Paris 1924), Juan Carlos Zabala (Marathon, Gold medal in Los Angeles 1932), Oscar Casanovas (Box Gold medal in Berlin, 1936), Alberto Demiddi, (Rowing Silver Medal in Munich 1972 and Bronze Medal in Mexico 1968), among others, including Luciana Aymar, Ayelén Stepnik and Laura del Colle in Field Hockey, or Lionel Messi, Ángel Di María and Javier Mascherano in Soccer.
