El Banquito

With their bars and services in the island, these sandy beaches are a popular summer attraction.

To reach El Banquito de San Andrés in a matter of minutes, there are ferries at the Estación Fluvial, a River Station steps away from the National Flag Memorial. In the summer, the number of ferry crossings per day is higher than in the fall and winter, when people may only take the ferry on the weekends and public holidays till mid-April. Also during the summer, these beaches are a meeting point for motorboats and yachts looking for a peaceful stretch of sand or the bustle and services of one of the island’s bars, another way of enjoying the sunshine.

“El Banquito” Beach Facilities (open in the summer)
- “Vladimir” &“Déjà Vu”: they include a bar and rent out loungers and beach umbrellas.
- “Waikiki”: it also includes a bar and rents out loungers and beach umbrellas.

- “Punta Arena”: about 200 meters (219 yards) from “Vladimir,” there is a beach with a picturesque bungalow that has Thai-style decorations, such as masks and wooden figurines. It serves food and drinks, rents out loungers and beach umbrellas, has a lifeguard service, water closets, a volleyball court, a beach soccer field, a playground and a resident DJ.
