25 de Mayo Square

Heart of the Historic Center, this square holds meetings, processions, and National Celebrations.

It keeps the original height of the old Pago de los Arroyos. In 1855, the Constitution Monument was built at its center, and later it was demolished and replaced by the Independence Monument built by the sculptor Biggi. The central column holds the Freedom, and in every corner stand the figures of the National Heroes Belgrano, Rivadavia, Moreno and San Martín. It holds National Celebrations, walks after Mass, and also social protests.
Here Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza 25 de Mayo organized their march around the central monument, as a silent claim that became the symbol of people's memory after the dark years of the last military coup in Argentina.

Address: Córdoba 700, S2000 AWF, Santa Fe, Argentina
