Moderate

If you want to be careful about spending during your trip to Rosario, we recommend combining some affordable activities with others that are worth paying for.

Guided tours
We recommend taking two guided tours. One of them is free and will take you to explore the historic downtown. The tour starts every Saturday at 10.00 am from the Municipal Decorative Art Museum (748 Santa Fe Street). The second tour is a visit to El Círculo Theater, an icon of the local culture. The guided tour lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. The last place to visit are the old catacombs within the theater. If you’d like to have a broader perspective of the city, consider taking some of the city tours offered by local travel agencies.

Riverside Circuits
Walking (up to any point), riding a bike (Mi bici tu bici is a system of public bikes) or driving a car, don’t miss this circuit that begins at the National Flag Memorial , following the coast to head North. You’ll come across several highlights: España Park, Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario (Macro) and Puerto Norte (2.8 miles from the Flag Memorial) until you reach the beaches of La Florida and the lookout point of Costa Alta (6.8 miles).

Shopping
Apart from the major shopping malls, which are ideal for rainy days, you can explore the city during the day walking along Córdoba Promenade, where you can find stores and commercial galleries. The craft fairs are also interesting. Don’t miss them… every weekend, at the riverside, near the National Flag Memorial and Oroño Boulevard.

Museums
Museums can also be included in your moderate-budget trip to Rosario. The Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum, for example, is one of the most important museums of the interior of the country. Another tip: the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Castagnino Museum open on Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm so that visitors can include them in their itinerary as they explore the Recreational Street.

River trips
You can enjoy the river by picking the trips you like the most: Cross the Paraná river in a kayak to get immersed in the silence of the delta; board a speedboat for a faster trip, observe the Paraná from the balconies of a big ship or, if you want to indulge yourself, let you be carried away by the wind in a more private sailboat trip.

Beaches and freshwater fish
In Summer, don’t miss spending at least one day in the beach of El Banquito. You can get there in 15 minutes from Nueva Terminal Fluvial. We recommend embarking at mid-morning to get in time to enjoy a grilled “boga” fish (Megaleporinus obtusidens) at the traditional beach bar DejaVu.

Another option is going to La Florida beach, located in the North coast. A few steps away from the south entrance to the beach, you can enjoy lunch or dinner with fish dishes in Escauriza, a traditional grill.

Family Fun
Traveling with kids always means higher costs. Thanks to public policies, Rosario can offer great fun in affordable family outings. Check it out by yourself by visiting the Three Amusing Parks for Children: The Island of Inventions, The Children's Garden and The Children's Farm. The three parks —each of them on a different location— allow you to enjoy a whole afternoon. Other family outings are the aquarium and Gallardo Museum, both of them admission-free.

Outings and cultural activities
At sunset, it is a good idea to take advantage of the happy hours for some homemade beer or drinks offered in most pubs (generally from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm. At night, you can book a table in a restaurant (traditional gastronomic areas are Pichincha neighborhood, Pellegrini Avenue and the riverside) and check out the cultural agenda, which always includes interesting events in theater halls and venues of the city.
